My work explores the interplay of color and light. I am specifically interested in the human experience, the body in motion, the manifestation of the spirit and the gift of nature. I prefer to work in oil however continue to explore various mediums.

 Biography & Exhibition History

In 1998, I became involved with the Riverside Artist in Lakefield where I was introduced to watercolors under the direction of Rene O’Connor. Chris Ridpath & Richard Hayman introduced to me to oils and I have not turned back.

Since that time I have attended a number of workshops, completed the expressive arts post certificate program through Sir Sanford Fleming College. I acted as Administrator of The Art School of Peterborough in 1998/1999; and have sat on the Board of Directors for the Buckhorn Arts and Wildlife Festival as head of the art competition and co-curated the Juniper Island Art Show on Stony Lake.

I have exhibited in a variety of festivals in the Kawartha’s, in member shows of the Kawartha Artist, Art Space, and the Health and Healing show at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre. I have received an honourable mention, second and first place award from the Buckhorn Arts and Wildlife Festival along with receiving honours in the Trent University Student Spirituality Art Show.

My work is currently displayed in many private collections through out Canada, U.S.A., England and Ireland. Wellness Works Professionals, various health clinics and offices throughout the region currently display my work.

 Statement:

Swami Sivananda Radha states, “Art is the supreme expression of mortals and with it goes a responsibility to all fellow men. In the highest form of art the spiritual genius flowers.” For me painting is the vehicle to my spirit. It is through expression of images on canvass that I am able to explore and express that which the spirit holds. The joy, the anguish and wonderment of humanness is free to flow. The use of color to explore the light and shadows of life permit me to flower.
